Blogtober Day 6…

Yesterday I wrote about crystal growth. I’ve been thinking about it all day. You are a crystal. An amazingly crafted, specifically designed, unique, authentic you, created for a purpose with a plan in mind. I don’t know your struggles. What I do know is that if you are here, if you are reading this, you, yes you were created already great. Who you are right now and where you are in life may not be ideal for you but you are great none the less.

Do you know the work it took to create you? I said yesterday it takes months to grow a crystal. The same is said for a baby. It takes even longer to grow from infant to adult and somehow once you become an adult you’re there for a while. God knew what he was doing when he created you. He knew the concentration amount he wanted of each parent. He knew the situation in which you would be conceived, and he still considers you a gem, a jewel, and full of his purpose.

You may be in the refining stage of life and it feels like everything is hard, or it hurts, or God isn’t speaking to you. It may seem like your friends are being blessed around you and that your season will never change but it will. I was speaking with a great friend of mine and she repeated something that someone said to her. I’m sure the persons intent was pure, but I side eyed the comment. The words that were said were, “The favor of the Lord is on me and everything attached (connected) to me. Since you are connected to me the favor is on you too.” Listen, God does not show favoritism but accepts from every nation the one who fears him and does what is right (Acts 10:34-35 NIV). When my friend said this to me, I immediately responded with you have the favor of the Lord for yourself and I meant it. Just because you are not in the same season as your friends that are being blessed doesn’t mean the favor of the Lord is not on you. It also doesn’t mean God is not with you, doesn’t hear you, or is punishing you.

We should be careful to remember that everyone is in a different season in life. What may seem like a season of misfortune in one person’s life may very well be the season that God is revealing the most to them. We don’t say a tree is out of the will of God because winter has come, and it’s lost all its leaves. The beauty of winter is even though the tree has lost all its leaves there is a work being done on the inside to preserve it and fortify it for the day spring comes.

One thing we can be sure of is that our seasons in life will change. Use your winter season to allow God to show you the hearts of those around you. Allow the winter to prepare you because this season won’t last always, and you were created to blossom and grow. You were created with intent and purpose. Much like the crystal you may be going through a period of characterization. During this process the crystal is being aligned. We have to make sure we align everything with the correct axis so when it moves to the refining stage it is refined on the correct axis. If it’s turned the wrong way when we attempt to use it, it may not detect what we need it to detect. At some point in our lives we have all experienced hurt. That hurt can shift our thoughts of ourselves or of others. Those hurts can cause us to develop thought patterns that are unhealthy. Thus, we must be refined and turned on the proper axis. Maybe this is the season for you to be refined and characterized and aligned to the proper axis. This is all done to remind you of how important you are to the purpose of this earth. This phase may not feel great but when it is done imagine how beautiful, how spectacular, and how full you will be. I hope this encourages you to press just a little while longer. Have patience with yourself. Take time to forgive yourself. Remind yourself that you are a crystal. You were made with purpose on purpose no matter what you tell yourself or what others tell you. Thank you for being you.

Love ya,

-Juls
