My Life's Mission

A year ago I started this blog. I thought this would be a fun way to start writing. I have had so many experiences in life that I've learned from and I wanted to share them on this platform. I started with hope in my eyes and a keyboard at my fingertips. Like life, there were roadblocks, writer's block, life blocks and I stopped writing. I used a variety of excused to keep me from posting and really it was fear. I don't fear being liked by people I don't know. I fear sharing my experiences and the ones I care about feeling some type of way. But, the truth is, that's life. I can't pacify your feelings because I love you. I know that I need to write; it's apart of my purpose, my mission in life, and there is no love lost.

Now that I've brought you up to speed on where I've been. Here are a few thoughts that I jotted down while I sat in the waiting room of the doctor's office.

My mission in life (that I realized at 36 years and 11months old) is to be a tangible expression of God’s LOVE to the world and the people around me. I only realized this when I began to pray more targeted prayers for my future husband. I’ve been asking God for some time now to be able to experience a tangible version of His love for me here on Earth. I want to experience the depth of love with a partner. This type of love and intimacy is very different from the love my mama gave and still gives me. It’s different from the love my siblings and I share. It’s even deeper than the love I share and freely give to my children. It’s also different from the love my closest friends and I express towards each other. The love I want/will to experience chosen, I see you, type of love. Yes, you’ve chosen your friends but you also can choose to distances yourself or adjust accordingly to your mood or theirs. The love that partners share is a visible, tangible, sustaining love that teaches you the depths of Gods love for humanity. To think that God loves me so much he sent his son... now pause for a min and think of God as a person that you don’t know. In some respects he is unknown to us before salvation. He loves us so much that before we even acknowledge knowing him he sacrificed the most precious, most valuable gift for us because he saw the purpose in us (along with the bigger picture). What’s more amazing is that Jesus was down for it! He had a real-life moment when he was like listen if there is another way let’s do it but I’m game if this is it. Ya boy got on the cross while being blameless because he loves us. His love never failed.

Now, why is any of that important to the love between partners? When we choose to be with someone we don’t always think about the bigger picture. Our finite minds can’t think past a 10-year plan (I don’t care how many limits to infinity you’ve solved you still can’t grasp it outside the mathematical concept) and if they fit into that we’re good. We don't account for how much we change within our 10-year plan. In 2 years of this 10-year plan, you’re not even the same person let alone have those same plans (and that’s okay!). When we have the right partner that chooses to be the tangible expression of Gods love towards us they are with us. They adjust but their love remains, they work hard with and for us but their love continues to choose us each and every day.

Again, my mission in life is to be a tangible expression of Gods love to the world and the people around me. This became my mission when I realized that it is what I want for myself. Part of that is sharing my writings and not allowing fear to keep me from this part of my purpose. Maybe your purpose is to finish a book (reading or writing), teach a class, finish school, go back to work, or be a stay at home mom, or even offer a compliment. Don't allow fear to keep you from living the most amazing version of yourself on Earth. Choose you because you were already chosen.
